What is a Co-Op Preschool?

Discover the Magic of a Cooperative Preschool at Central Lutheran Preschool (CLP)! At CLP,

we believe that learning is not just about the child—it’s about the whole family. As a

cooperative preschool, we’re different from traditional schools because we have families

at the heart of the learning experience.

Our preschool is guided by an Executive Board made up of parents just like you, who are actively involved in creating an enriching environment for all our students. Parents, teachers, and a dedicated Program Coordinator, all work together to create a warm, hands-on, and supportive environment for children and their families.

In a cooperative preschool, parents are more than just observers—they are active participants in their child’s education. That means you get to join the fun! Parents or caregivers take on roles in the classroom 2-3 times a month, helping with everything from the art table, dramatic play, special projects, playing games, and building right alongside the students. It’s a wonderful way to get involved, see your child’s learning in action, and build stronger connections with both your child and other families in the school community.

CLP thrives on collaboration. The whole school—teachers, parents, and caregivers—work together to make decisions, help with classroom activities, organize events, and take care of the day-to-day operations, from fundraising to cleaning. It's a community effort where everyone plays a vital role in creating a fun, enriching learning environment.

Why choose a cooperative preschool?

  • A unique partnership: between parents and teachers to support each child's growth.

  • Hands-on involvement: Parents are actively engaged in the classroom and in the decision-making process.

  • A close-knit community: Families build lasting relationships with each other, making it feel like a second home.

  • Child-centered learning: Small class sizes and an emphasis

  • on play-based education help foster self-esteem, creativity, and social skills.

  • Positive attitudes toward learning: With both parents and teachers working together, children feel supported, excited, and confident about school.

At CLP, we create a space where children are encouraged to explore, learn, and grow—together with their families. If you’re looking for a preschool where you can be actively involved in your child’s education while building a strong community, CLP is the perfect place for you.
